Finding Schooling to Become a Paralegal

Paralegal Schooling

When a person is interested in becoming a paralegal they must attend secondary schooling. Paralegals can receive a bachelor’s degree for a four year college or an associate’s degree from a two year college. Depending on the type of paralegal work a person is looking to do will determine the amount of schooling that they will need.

After completing a paralegal program, either at a two or four year college, it is recommended that paralegals become certified by different organizations such as the NALA. These types of organizations provide paralegals with more knowledge of their work as well as prove to future employers their capabilities. In the United States alone, there are over 1,000 colleges and universities that offer formal paralegal programs which are approved by the American Bar Association.
